Our story is proof that God truly is intentional, and that He scripts the best stories.
A New Face
We met in 2021. She had just joined our church and quietly blended into the congregation. Well... almost quietly. While everyone else carried on as usual, I couldn't help but notice the beautiful new face I hadn't seen before. There was something about the way she carried herself that quietly drew my attention.
A Conversation That Shifted
For a while, we simply went about our church activities without saying much to each other. Then, one evening after service (we attended an evening church at the time), we got talking. Somewhere in the course of that conversation, something shifted.
That simple conversation became the beginning of something incredibly special.
The Realisation
Over the next few months, we talked often, laughed a lot, prayed together, and built a genuine friendship. Then, during one of those moments of prayer, everything became clear to me. I realised that so much of what I had trusted God for in a wife was beautifully reflected in this amazing woman.
I didn't keep that realisation to myself for long.
Doing It God's Way
I sought counsel and submitted what I had come to understand to the guidance of our Spiritual Father, believing that good things are best done God's way. He instructed us to enter a three-month waiting season and seek the Lord concerning the matter.
I took that time to seek God sincerely. She did the same, asking Him to reveal the purpose of our friendship and whether this was truly the path He had prepared for us.
And Now, Here We Are
When that season came to an end, our convictions were settled in God. With the blessing of God's servant, and with peace in our hearts and confidence in God's leading, we officially began our relationship on September 6, 2022.
And now, here we are. What began with a simple conversation has grown into a love story we never could have written ourselves.
Looking back, we are reminded that God was faithfully writing every chapter long before we even knew there was a story to tell, and for that, we'll always be grateful.
